Description:

• Responsible for maximizing profitability of the Hotel by effective leadership and management of the operational Division and Departments, paying particular attention to the development and implementation of customer acquirement, retention and expansion strategies and tactical actions while maintaining brand and company standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction and internal processes. The operational Division and Departments are F&B, Rooms, Maintenance & Engineering, Safety & Security, Retail, Spa and the Hard Rock Cafe.
• Supervises Division and Department Heads under his/her supervision directly overseeing day-to-day operating activities and directing long-term strategy formulation and execution.
• Leads Division and Department Heads under his/her supervision directly to implement, maintain and continuously work towards improving operating systems and internal process. In this role, designs and provides metrics to monitor and assess effectiveness and efficiency and as well as work with these Department Heads directly to diagnose and search for acceptable and practical solutions to challenges.
• Partners with the Hotel heads of Finance, Marketing and Human Resources to ensure integration of these complementary functions into the operating framework of Division and Departments under his/her supervision.
• Deputizes for the General Manager in his/her absence from the Hotel.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 12 years industry exposure that includes a demonstrated 3-year track record as second in command of a Hotel with oversight of the F&B or Rooms division. Second in command roles include Hotel Manager, Resident Manager, Resort Manager, Director of Operations or Executive Assistant Manager.
2. It is envisaged success in the position requires a leadership stature with the ability to gain immediate professional credibility through possessing: (a) the capability to proactively provide sound operating advice and proactively coach Division and Department Heads under his/her supervision primarily and other employees, where appropriate, (b) the ability to communicate and influence at all levels through clear, informed and logical argument and discussion, tempered by a sense of humour, when appropriate and (c) the ability to build effective relationships and influence positive outcomes through possessing a progressive and participative management style.
3. Due to living arrangements in the resort, this position is best suited to an individual on single or couple living status without children.
4. This position is not open to candidates currently below a second in command role.
5. It is envisaged candidates below 32 years of age will not have accumulated the career path and experience for this position.
