The hotel is a 53-year-old Tudor-style country house that sits atop a hill overlooking the Sultan Abu Bakar Lake in the Cameron Highlands - Malaysia’s largest and most popular hill resort. Situated at approximately 1,000 m above sea level and a short distance from the towns of Tanah Rata and Ringlet, the hotel is accessible by road from Tapah or Simpang Pulai on the lowlands.

Reporting functionally to a General Manager who is offsite in a hotel managed by HPL Hotels & Resorts, you are responsible from both an operational and strategic perspective for the effective leadership and management of the hotel to achieve planned business objectives and goals while maintaining brand and company standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction and internal processes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years industry exposure that includes a demonstrated 3-year track record as a Division Head with oversight of the F&B, Rooms division or both. This position is not open to candidates currently below a Division Head role.
  • Exposure within full-service boutique hotels or resorts is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • It is envisaged success in the position requires a leadership stature with the ability to gain immediate professional credibility through possessing:
  1. the capability to proactively provide sound operating advice and proactively coach Division and Department Heads under his/her supervision primarily and other employees, where appropriate.
  2. the ability to communicate and influence at all levels through clear, informed and logical argument and discussion, tempered by a sense of humour, when appropriate.
  3. the ability to build effective relationships and influence positive outcomes through possessing a progressive and participative management style.
  • Due to the remote hill environment, this position is best suited to an individual on single or couple living status without children.
  • It is envisaged candidates below 28 years of age will not have accumulated the career path and experience for this position.
