Main and Supplementary Duties:

Your duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed to carry out the objective of this position.   1. Identify training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with other managers or individuals.
  2. Prepare a training plan for the resort (biannual/annual) based on systematic research and needs analysis.
  3. Prepare an expenditure budget by identifying and allocating appropriate portions of the funds for the different training initiatives and other expenses. Consider the costs of the training and development programs that are being planned and to keep within budgets
  4. Build up a team of departmental trainers for every section and drive and monitor/supervise operational training.
  5. Work with HPL hotels and resorts to produce training and development programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties such as line Hosts, supervisors, managers, and senior management.
  6. Amend HPL Training Programmes as instructed by HPL Director of Training and Development and update the property programmes in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment.
  7. Translate HPL and Resorts Training Programmes including handouts and Power Point presentations into Dhivehi as required.
  8. Manage the delivery of training and development programs and deliver training in a manner that is easily understandable to Trainees / Interns and in a way that motivates them
  9. Monitor and review the progress of Trainees / Interns by using questionnaires and by having discussions with managers
  10. Continually amend the training and development programs as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment
  11. Help people such as line managers and trainers to solve specific training problems either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
  12. Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending courses
  13. Use technology such as computers to produce some of the training materials
  14. Organize and liaise with Department Heads concerning new employee orientation and induction.
  15. Implement and follow up on training activities.
  16. Maintain and update all training records.
  17. Provide updated information on relevant external courses for hosts.
  18. Arrange training programs for Trainees / Interns from local and overseas hotel schools.
  19. Work closely with Departments Heads and Director of Human Resources & Training to get feedback and monitor the training progress.
  20. Assist senior management in developing training concepts for management levels.
  21. Assist the Director of Human Resources & Training in the day-to-day function include coaching, counselling and other employee relation matters

  23. Act as Secretary for the Training Committee
  24. Perform any additional duties as requested by the Director of Human Resources & Training.
  25. Implement and support all Resort and HPL initiatives and programs as requested
  26. Respect and ensure uncompromised care for the environment
  27. Safeguard soft copies of proprietary training materials entrusted to him/her.
