- Always present a positive and appropriate image of the resort and company in accordance with the mission, vision and philosophy.
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing / General Manager to devise and implement an annual sales plan.
- Further devise and implement short term quarterly action plans to drive critical activity to meet key objectives.
- Liaise with the Revenue/E-Commerce Manager to review occupancy forecasts and predict levels of activity.
- Support the establishment of the resort and the name “Gili Lankanfushi” as a globally known luxury hospitality brand on international markets further to the recent ownership change to HPL Hotels and Resorts.
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop offers for specific tactical campaigns during periods of low occupancy.
- Work with the PR and Marketing Communications Executive on the implementation of promotions and initiatives and maximize resort exposure.
- Review any promotions and campaigns to assess effectiveness and decide on future action.
- Record and monitor any guest/client comments and complaints and action as necessary.
- Establish, maintain and update a register of local, regional and international agents.
- Liaise with local tourism bodies and establish a primary point of contact.
- Constantly, review local trends, rates, promotions etc. offered by competitors and instigate action as necessary.
- Ensure that all sales information and literature is kept up to date and advise all departments of any changes or developments.
- Produce a monthly report summarizing, room nights, activity and points of interest.
- Oversee and conduct site visits and familiarization trips, entertaining clients and potential customers when needed.
- Ensure that all business dealings are conducted in line with policies and procedures and in compliance with ethical and legal requirements.
- Support Director of Sales and Marketing in driving and coordinating Gili Lankanfushi Sales Offices, Sales Reps and Public Relation activities.
- Attend (luxury) trade shows, sales calls/giving sales training in conjunction with Sales and Marketing Business plan.
- Support Director of Sales and Marketing in providing accurate forecast information in a timely manner towards presenting the budgets and Business Plan to the HPL Hotels and Resorts board annually.
- As per Director of Sales and Marketing guidelines, conduct all business dealings in line with the company policy and procedures and in compliance with current legislation.
- Support Director of Sales and Marketing in working with the General Manager and Resort Manager to develop an annual sales and marketing strategy and plan which increases revenue; maintains the market position and enhances the resort image.
- Support Director of Sales and Marketing in identifying new and developing markets and establishing suitable contacts and links.
- Maintain, in collaboration with Director of Sales and Marketing, a database of all agents, business partners and major clients.
- Regularly contact key agents and clients to consolidate working relationships and improve overall service.
- Support the Director of Sales and Marketing in the overall operation of the Sales and Marketing Team including selection, recruitment and training of all hosts.
- Monitor and analyze trends, both locally and globally, within the luxury resort market and report to Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Represent the resort at major events within the industry where the General Manager or Director of Sales and Marketing is not available.
- Ensure that all information is kept confidential, unless otherwise advised.
- Ensure that all Occupational Health and Safety requirements for the company are met within your department.
- Report any workplace hazards as you see them and support the company in its endeavor to provide a safe workplace
- Complete, to the best of your ability, any additional tasks within reason as requested.
- Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies and Procedures for joint Sales and Reservation Team.
- Support the development and maintenance of the operational manual for the department.
- Undertake Manager on Duty shifts as required.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
