Description:
As Assistant AV Manager, you are responsible for the work performance of one or more subordinates who are in the Back-Of-house of guest service for consistently meeting differing guests’ needs & wants consistent to your assigned area of responsibility in the Maintenance & Engineering department, that is, overall department daily operations, Preventive Maintenance program, Training & Development, Energy Conservation, Fire and life safety system, Accident prevention & safety and project management. You direct the procedural and personal dimensions of one or more work processes through these subordinates. An increase in personal efficiency and effectiveness is expected when you work as a team with your subordinates, colleagues and superiors and achieve common goals and targets.
You will:
- Managed, supervise and support the Maintenance & Engineering teams in their daily operation that related to Audio Visual system in Hotel and Hard Rock Café.
- Manage and check the roster for the Maintenance & Engineering Crew and Crew Leader to ensure consistent coverage for shifts.
- Arrange and conduct daily sound check to discuss operational and training topics.
- Conduct Briefing/Sound Check to communicate daily information.
- Ensure all the band members of the department to follow the Policy & Procedures, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI) constantly.
- Planning and scheduling Preventive Maintenance program, corrective maintenance and project works.
- Maintain and tracking on the department checklist, logs and documents.
- Constantly seek to identify guest needs through the Guest feedback and comments.
- Conduct training, development & coaching of all’s Maintenance & Engineering team to ensure consistent excellent service delivery.
- Lead or otherwise facilitate the transfer of information regarding priorities, assignments and problem solving at the various briefing sessions daily.
- Accident Prevention and Safety - To be aware of all existing divisional job safety analysis and to strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions, which may endanger Band Members and Guest of the hotel and take immediate action to correct such hazardous conditions found.
- Emergencies - To be available for any emergencies and act in an Engineering capacity to protect Guests and Band Members and preserve the building and its system during an emergency. To act quickly and responsibly to return the building to its normal operating status. To inform Engineering management of such emergencies.
- Energy Conservation - To observe and analyse energy and utilities usage and to look for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas.
- Responsibilities on Hotel Banquet function, events equipment’s setup.
- Undertake performance management & counselling of Maintenance & Engineering department.
- Ensure Hard Rock International (HRI) audit requirement standard are being applied in all Maintenance & Engineering section.
- Ensure all ESG Policies & Procedure are follow as per Hotel Standard.
- “HANDS ON” with Band Member’s on Problem solving and other activities.
- Regularly check and inspect Band member’s works quality and standard.
- Efficient stock controls, inventory, reduce unnecessary operational expenses or wastage through close monitoring parts issue and usage.
- Be Environment friendly, reduce waste, recycle when possible and reduce whenever applicable.
- Ensure your staff and yourself have necessary hotel knowledge to answer guest questions / enquiries. Example; outlet operation hours, memorabilia’s and etc.
- Assist Assistant Chief Engineer & Assistant Maintenance & Engineering Manager for smooth operation constantly.
- Be an active member during organized philanthropic events.
Requirements:
- Degree / Diploma in in audio visual technology.
- Able to command in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in the related field.
- Excellent knowledge of audio visual, lighting technique and editing equipment and software.
- Able to handle Live Band audio.
- Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
- Proactive, well organized, quality driven, detail-minded team player with excellent interpersonal skills and can work independently.
- Ability to work on roster schedule, weekends and public holidays.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for developing team members.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to plan strategically and analytically.
